Having those childhood
memories of lilacs and now living in Florida, I was extremely excited when
I opened my Christmas gift from my husband of 2 of your lilacs, Lilac Sunday
and Pocahontas. They arrived at my mother's before Christmas, just
twigs, and she immediately planted them. She carefully gift wrapped
them for secreted delivery to my husband on Christmas Eve. To her
surprise, and my delight, when I opened them Christmas morning there were
lots of buds ready to open on the Lilac Sunday. It soon blossomed
and I am the envy of my northern friends who love lilacs so much.
I am eagerly anticipating the first flowering of the Pocahontas which is
just budding leaves. I am now ready to plant them and am wondering
if there are more specific planting instructions for Zone 9 planting, such
as sunlight (which means a lot of heat in our summers) and more specifics
on withholding water to mimic dormancy as you mention. I want to
do everything I can to make them happy here. If there are customers
such as D. Casey, who's testimonial is on your web page, who would like
to share Florida growing tips I would greatly appreciate that. I
am located on the central Florida east coast next to Kennedy Space Center.
If I have good results I know I will be ordering several more to enjoy
and so will friends and family who are waiting to see if you can REALLY
have lilacs in Florida! I am also excited to share them with friends
who own a wonderful plant nursery a block away. This may well be
something they would like to try themselves. I know they will have
many interested customers who are transplanted northerners like I am.
You may share my e-mail address if anyone may be interested in sharing
Florida growing tips. They should just please put Florida lilac growing,
or something like that, in the subject line so I will know it is not e-mail
spam. Thank you for all your assistance to my husband and daughter
when they were researching to find just the right Christmas gift for me.

It was a wonderful box of plants. I'm sorry I
hadn't said anything. Both Vera and I are so pleased - and your CD!
Wow! I feel very lucky to have
found you and so many hard to find plants.

The order arrived on Saturday and was planted on Sunday
before the rain. The plants all look superb = the fern leaved lilac does
have leaves to
everyone elses surprise because they don't look like
lilac leaves at all - I shall have to send pictures as they grow! Many
thanks for everything.
Hope to see you at Boston Flower Show again!

I wanted you to know that I am very pleased with the
lilacs that I just received from you recently! It is a nice change of pace
when one receives a product of quality.! I would like to place another
order for next year.

Just wanted to let you know that the two Kras Moskvy you sent last year are blooming. I didn't expect any bloom till next year, but what a wonderful surprise! Not only are they blooming, one plant has 9 blooms and the other 14, and they are good size blooms. It really is a magnificent plant. Thank you very much!

Just a note to let your know that after a gruelingly
dry winter, some of your "babies" are blooming. The land they are planted
on is 3 hours to
the north of Phoenix, so I haven't seen the plants
for a few months. I was happy to see they had made it and were actually
blooming. I am
originally from the midwest and lilacs are one of
the things I have missed most by moving to the desert. I hopefully have
gotten the
automatic watering system working well and they won't
have to endure such dry conditions anymore. I just know that one day I'll
be looking
out at big, beautiful bushes...reminding me of my
childhood in Illinois.
thx much

Frank & family,
I want to thank you VERY MUCH for the lilac you sent
in Julie's memory! It is just wonderful, and we are very touched
and honored to accept it. I can
hardly wait till it starts blooming - it will be such
a precious and valuable reminder of her sweetness and beauty. It
seems so appropriate to
have something like this which will grow and bloom
and be an on-going blessing, since these are some of the things we are
missing out on with the
loss of Julie's life. I can't thank you enough
- you have a wonderful specialty which makes the world a better, more beautiful
place!
With thankfulness,
S Eding
Thank you very much for the lilacs. I just wanted
to let you know that they arrived in great condition. Thanks
again.

After opening the package, I was impressed with
the size and excellent condition of the root ball, and found your Planting
Guide very helpful. I certainly will recommend your service to friends.
Thanks so much for responding. I'm going to take
1 plant each of the six white lilacs you so kindly recommended. When
I have a chance I will pull up
your website and place my order. I'm rushed
today, but hope to do this week. I wish everyone had a web
site like yours - I hope we are in touch from now
on. It is an absolute pleasure doing business
with you - you and your wife are just the nicest people.
Thanks, Frank. Donald
